Regulatory compliance
NMC Rules & Regulations (UGMEB)
No foreign medical graduate shall practise medicine in India unless granted permanent registration according to the below regulations. Permanent registration requires completion of a medical course of at least 54 months, a 12-month internship at the same foreign institution, a medical degree with English as the medium of instruction, study of mandatory subjects specified in Schedule-I, registration with the relevant professional regulatory body, a 12-month supervised internship in India, and passing the National Exit Test (NExT) or other tests mandated by the Commission.
